ALL GENERATIONS: FAMILY SEVA SAFARI
July 16th - 25th Africa Yoga Project will be hosting its third All Generations Family Seva Safari July 2015. This is an amazing opportunity for families and loved ones to travel together, to experience a new culture and connect as a family on a Kenyan adventure. Have you been looking for a chance to serve? A chance for your children to serve alongside peers from around the world? This is YOUR opportunity to reach out as a family and really make a difference! This adventure will be lead by Monica Mallo, Karen Torrone and Billy Sadia. Together they have created a heart felt itinerary designed for you and your family to connect deeply to the environment, to new Kenyan friends and to one another. You will get the chance to work side by side with other Africa Yoga Project families to build lasting friendships, all while opening the door to new cultures, people and ideas. On this journey, we will take you out of the city and into the Abedare Mountains to work with Flying Kites Orphanage. Together we will execute a sustainable community project driven by the needs of the amazing young children at Flying Kites.
If you have ever wanted to go on an international adventure with you and your family to explore, learn and laugh, while contributing to the development of sustainable projects that positively impact others, then this is the program for you!
All participants will arrive in Nairobi by 4:00 p.m on Thursday. We will arrange to have you picked up at Nairobi 's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. We will then take you to the guesthouse to meet up with the rest of the group. Program orientation begins at 6pm sharp. If you arrive a day early there will be optional trips to the giraffe center and elephant orphanage.
Friday we will start off with a morning yoga practice and give you a chance to get on your mat, sweat off your jet lag, and meet a few Africa Yoga Project teachers. After practice, we will embark on a service project in the city where you will get your first chance to experience the impact of the Africa Yoga Project in the community. In the evening, we will head back to the guesthouse for some more orientation activities, dinner and an evening check-in.
Saturday morning will be your first yoga class at the AYP Shine Center. This is Africa Yoga Project's largest weekly community class, and it will give you a chance to meet many of the Africa Yoga Project teachers and other members of the Africa Yoga Project's yoga community in Nairobi. After practice, you will have more time to get to know the Africa Yoga Project teachers over lunch. In the afternoon we will visit another Africa Yoga Project outreach class. In the evening we will return to the guesthouse to share our experiences over dinner and enjoy an evening meeting.
