Tuesday, March 3

All participants will arrive in Cape Town by 4:00 pm on Tuesday. We will arrange to have you picked up at Cape Town International Airport and then take you to the guesthouse to relax and settle in. You will meet the rest of the group at orientation, which begins at 6pm sharp. If you arrive a day early you can organize a visit to one of Cape Town’s many sites. Camp’s Bay, Robben Island Museum, and V&A Market on the Warf are all popular stops to visit.

Wednesday, March 4

Today, we will jump on our mats. Jessica will lead a practice designed to ground you, open your heart and sweat off your jet lag. Afterwards, we will head into the city and connect with Earthchild Project where you will experience the impact of Africa Yoga Project in the community. Our project celebrates the mission and vision of the AYP in South Africa, with its goal of sustainability. In the evening, we will return to the guesthouse for dinner and fun activities.

Thursday, March 5

Today, we'll practice yoga first thing with Leah. After practice, we'll have breakfast and then head out to join Earthchild Project and discover the unique role they play in the community. It’s full-on community outreach day! Get ready to dive in! In the evening we will return home to share our experiences over dinner.

Friday, March 6 – Sunday, March 8

Friday morning will begin with yoga for grounding and centering followed by breakfast and a fun site-seeing activity in Cape Town. After lunch, we’ll begin the weekend yoga training for the Earthchild Project staff and teen teachers! From Friday afternoon until Sunday evening after dinner we will be 100% in training. Each morning we begin the day with yoga practice, followed with discussion and teachings. This course curriculum includes an exploration of vinyasa yoga, as well as sequencing and practice teaching. We will work side by side with local students. In the evenings we will reflect on the experiences of the day, individually and as a group, through the evening sessions.

Monday, March 9

We’ll kick off the morning with breakfast followed by a hike up Table Mountain. At the top we’ll enjoy spectacular views and a yoga practice overlooking the city of Cape Town. Once down we’ll pack up our things, share lunch and then hit the road for our safari destination. We’ll have the chance to enjoy beautiful South African countryside while we travel to the park. Once we arrive we’ll settle into our new home for the next two nights. We’ll meet and share about our experiences this far and enjoy our first dinner outside the city, surrounded by South African nature.

Tuesday, March 10

Safari Time! We will gather at dawn for a vehicle-based game drive. The morning is often the best time to experience Africa's landscape and wildlife. We will return for lunch followed by some down time and an inspired yoga practice in the beautiful safari landscape. We'll head out at sunset for another sublime game drive and close the evening with a team meeting and dinner to share stories of the day.

Wednesday, March 11

Today, we wake up with a sunrise yoga session to enjoy our one last morning together in gorgeous South Africa. After practice we’ll have breakfast and head back to Cape Town.
