As the the July 2012 Seva Safari gets underway, a group of the early arrivals ventured out on a day trip to some great Nairobi sites!

"A large group of the Seva Safari participants arrived the evening of the 25th, so on the 26th AYP arranged a day trip for us to the animal orphanage and the giraffe center. There were two vans of people traveling and we all got to know more of the participants en route to the orphanage. We discovered that we were from the US, Canada, and Sydney Australia. The animal orphanage was a lot of fun. We had the opportunity to see lion, cheetahs and moneys. The highlight had to have been seeing a “zedonk”, a combination of a zebra and a donkey. This is not a breed in Africa, but merely an accident of nature. After hat we headed to the giraffe center where you could fee the animals form your hand. We also spent time having lunch together and visiting craft markets. It was a great first day meeting lots of new friends and beginning to build our AYP community."

Tomorrow we are going to Tree House Orphanage north of Nairobi to spend the day doing service and having fun with the children!
