When Africa Yoga Project announced the news that it would be hosting a 200 & 500 hour teacher training program in Kenya, we only hoped it would be met with the kind of excitement that so many have shown. People from all over the world have responded to share their enthusiasm and excitement for what this teacher training represents, a bold opportunity to stand for service.

People from all over the globe have decided that this is their opportunity to evolve together as a global community. They have raised their YES flags because they believe in their hearts that sharing the benefits of yoga will create sustainable solutions to so many of the issues we face in our communities.

Meet James Maina. He has raised his flag high and announced his desire to positively change himself and his community by enrolling as a 200 hour teacher trainee. He has found a home at the Shine Center in Nairobi, Kenya, and he will be one of the 40 new Kenyan teachers that this Seva Safari will be introducing into the world.

James Maina pledges to bring UNITY to where there once was none.

Now meet Lauren Lewey. A yogi on a mission to create a global movement of peace and acceptance. Building on a previous Seva Safari experience, she is wildly ready to get her feet back on the ground in Kenya. She has so much love for Africa Yoga Project because is challenges her to be of service in bigger and bolder ways at home.

She always felt a tug to teach more outreach classes at home in Alabama but she had a fear that held her back. Since being back from Seva Safari, she now teaches at an alternative school and is in talks to start a yoga class at the federal prison. She has learned that when she gives up fear and meets people right where they are in each moment without expectations, she truly connects and becomes available to build incredible classes together with her students that drip with inspiration and peace.

Lauren Lewey pledges to bring childlike wonder and a BIG smile to this teacher training.

Together James and Lauren are going to make this teacher training unlike any other on earth, and together they will inspire the spirit of service by being of service to each other.
