Baptiste Level One and Two, AYP 200hr and AYP Art of Assisting Certified Instructor

I have been passionate about teaching since I was very young. However, I wouldn’t have guessed I would be a yoga teacher. I began working with the Africa Yoga Project (AYP) back in 2009 when we did our Level One training in Mombasa. This experience helped me to feel a part of a greater community; I had a place of belonging. Having completed Baptiste’s Level One and Two, an AYP 200hr Teacher Training, and AYP Art of Assisting training, there is no doubt that I love my job and am dedicated to deepening my practice for the benefit of myself and others.

With clients in different areas, I am afforded the chance to travel around Nairobi to teach yoga. I especially love being around children and so I teach a weekly class in a school near my neighborhood. Within my practice, I relate everything on the mat to my life off the mat. I work to realize myself and focus on when to do what, in determination of what is best within that moment.

Off the mat and outside of class, you can find me spending time with my family and best friend--usually shopping! As an AYP teacher, I’m living my dream!

Africa Yoga Project Educates, Empowers, Elevates and Expands Employability with youth in Africa using the transformational practice of yoga. Our vision is to create opportunities for youth to step into their greatness and become self-sustaining leaders in their communities.
