What is Yoga and Why do we Practice Yoga?
Yoga is a physical practice that links together a series of postures to allow for you to stretch your mind and body in ways you did not think were possible.
You can think of it like a combination of going to the gym, and going for a massage to work your body and relax your mind leaving you relaxed, yet energized and ready to take on the day!
Since yoga focuses on you and use of your own body, it requires no equipment and can be practiced anywhere and by people of all ages and levels of fitness.
Why a Yoga Academy?
In the US, over 36 million people practice yoga and spend over $16 billion annually on classes, apparel and yoga related products. If we look beyond yoga, the global wellness industry is a $3.7 trillion market.
The World Health Organization estimates that by 2030, the death toll from chronic diseases will equal that of infectious diseases, maternal and newborn death, and malnutrition combined in Kenya.
The need for preventative health care services is real and growing in Kenya, and the leaders of the wellbeing industry are being trained right now in the AYP Academy.
