I KNEW I HAD FOUND A FOREVER HOME IN NAIROBI
"The first Saturday morning I walked into the Shine Center, I knew I had found a forever home in Nairobi. Regardless of where my feet may take me, I know I will have the friends and chosen family of AYP students and teachers alike — supporting me through the postures of life on and off the mat."
IT IS VERY HEALING, AND BRINGS PEOPLE OF ALL BACKGROUNDS TOGETHER
"Before yoga I had back problems from a previous accident. A friend introduced me to AYP and after 3 months of practicing, the years of aches and pains started to go away! Yoga keeps me healthy, the more I get older the more I feel younger all of the time! My age (57) won't stop me from practicing or teaching. I am an outreach empowerment coach because I like to encourage the other AYP teachers to continue holding their outreach classes; when you're reaching more people through yoga, you're creating good relationships with more communities in a country notorious for ethnic tensions. It is very healing, and brings people of all backgrounds together participating in the same practice, sharing each other's energy and light."
